Microsoft Teams silent install and uninstall

Collaborate more effectively with a faster, simpler, smarter, and more flexible Teams.

Silent install

Add-AppxProvisionedPackage -Online -PackagePath ".\MSTeams-x64.msix" -SkipLicense

1. Download the installer from the direct download link.
2. Open an elevated PowerShell: right-click PowerShell and select Run as administrator.
3. Change to the folder with the installer, for example cd C:\Temp.
4. Run the command above. Adjust the file name if you downloaded a different version.

Or install with winget

winget install --id Microsoft.Teams --exact --silent --scope machine --accept-package-agreements --accept-source-agreements

Silent uninstall

winget uninstall --id Microsoft.Teams --exact --silent --accept-source-agreements

About the MSIX package installer

MSIX apps are installed with PowerShell. Add-AppxProvisionedPackage provisions the app for every user who signs in; Add-AppxPackage installs it for the current user only.

Deploy Microsoft Teams with Microsoft Intune

Upload the MSIX file as a Line-of-business app in Intune. Intune installs and removes it without any command lines.
